Cake Pop Club finds the reward of their efforts to be sweet

Cake pops can put a smile on practically any face. However, as sophomores Chelsea Burgess and Gera Versfeld ventured out at the beginning of this year with the introduction of Cake Pop Club, their goal was to provide smiles particularly to the faces of those in need.

On May 9, their efforts throughout the year in making this goal possible paid off as they raised a total of $500 to give back to the Lord’s Pantry, a local food service that gives donated food to those in need of it as a part of Christ Episcopal Church.

Throughout the school year, the Cake Pop Club has initiated numerous bake sales, selling their Halloween, Christmas, Valentine’s and St. Patrick’s Day themed pops.
