Both students and teachers are getting excited as they prepare for the arrival of acclaimed young adult fiction author Wendy Mills, who is finally going to be visiting Saint Stephen’s on Thursday, November 9th after her original visit had to be postponed due to the threat of hurricane Irma.

Mills, the author of successful two young adult books, All We Have Left and Positively Beautiful, will be giving presentations on 9/11, the topic of All We Have Left, and the creative writing process. She will also be available during lunch to eat with students and sign books.

Mrs. Pommer will be selling copies of All We Have Left to both students and teachers for $12. Here is a schedule of Mills’s activities for the day:

8:00am Arrive on Campus and set up in Middle and Upper School Commons

8:30-9:15am –Presentation “In Their Words: Stories from Inside the Twin Towers on September 11th”– MS Commons

9:30am-10:15am – Presentation “In Their Words: Stories from Inside the Twin Towers on September 11th”– US Commons

10:20am-11:00am – Creative Writing Workshop “Finding your Own Voice” – Library

11:05am-12:05pam Break

12:05pm-1:15pm Lunch and Book Signing with Students – Library

Wendy Mills’s visit will provide many opportunities for students to learn about creative writing from a published author and will be an exciting event for students and teachers across the school.
