Harry Styles is back in style yet again, but to be fair, he was never really out. This is a review of his latest album.

His newest album, Kiss All The Time, Disco, Occasionally., is a collection of 12 pop songs that each bring their own unique vibe, making the album a very worthwhile to listen to. While the songs are all different, they work together to create a upbeat, disco-inspired pop album. The album feels pretty different from his last album, Harry’s House (2022), which had a more relaxed, laid-back feel. Kiss All The Time, Disco, Occasionally. is brighter, louder, and definitely brings more energy. Harry Styles shows another side of his music and proves he’s not afraid to experiment with new sounds. Each of the tracks has something different to offer, so here’s a closer look at how they each stand out.

Aperture:

This song brings a different energy, leaning heavily into the techno-inspired beat, something that feels fresh compared to some of his other work. What makes this song stand out is its vibe. The electric music gives it a modern, almost futuristic feel, and the rhythm keeps it catchy. The beat is strong and steady, in a way it almost feels cinematic. For example, at the end of the song when the music builds up, it creates the kind of atmosphere you might hear at the end of a movie, when everything finally works out and the story ends on a good and hopeful note. Overall, “Aperture” shows another side of Harry’s blending techno-style production with the emotional tone that makes his music memorable.

American Girls:

This song immediately pulls me in with its upbeat energy. The song has a brightly pop sound and a rhythm that makes it easy to listen to on repeat. It feels lively and almost confident, with a chorus that will get stuck in your head long after the song ends. The attitude behind the song is playful, carefree, and has a lot of personality. Overall, it's a catchy feel good song with a strong sense of style and energy.

Ready, Steady, Go!:

This is very fast paced and is able to grab your attention right away. Between the strong beat and the energetic rhythm, it makes it all too exciting from the start. Throughout the whole song there is a sense of movement, similar to a buildup before something big happens. It is very upbeat and adrenaline filled, a song that is made for driving with the windows down or getting ready for an exciting moment.

Are You Listening Yet?:

This song has a bright, upbeat energy that almost feels cinematic. It’s catchy rhythm makes it sound like a song that would play in the background of a commericial for brands like Target or Old Navy, the kind of ad where everything is fun and full of energy. At the same time, the song also has a road trip vibe. It feels like the soundtrack that would be in a Disney movie where the main character is driving across the country in hopes of starting a new life, or new beginning, where the possibilities are open and endless. The upbeat tempo and hopeful tone give it a feeling of optimism. “Are You Listening Yet?” stands out because it is both playful and inspiring, and its the kind of song that fits perfectly with a story about new beginnings or chasing something bigger.

Taste Back:

“Taste Back” has a smooth, confident vibe that makes it stand out in the album. The song leans into a pop sound with a steady beat that makes it catchy, but also relaxing. Altogether, it flows naturally and pulls you in switch its capitivating rhythm. What makes it most interesting though, is the songs attitude. It’s a little playful and energetic, but it almost feels familiar too. Overall, this song adds another layer of confidence to the album and makes it more memorable.

The Waiting Game:

This one is slower and more emotional. Unlike the upbeat energy of some of the other songs in the album, this one leans more into a moody, steady rhythm that mirrors the feeling of anticipation the title suggests. It really stands out for its cinematic quality, as it is easy to imagine it as the background to a quiet moment in a movie, where someone is reflecting and waiting for something important to happen. The vocals shine throughout the song and the melody carries a gentle tension that keeps you hooked. “The Waiting Game” gives listeners a moment to slow down and feel their emotions, which is exactly what Harry Styles is intending to do.

Season 2 Weight Loss:

For me, “Season 2 Weight Loss” is one of the more experimental songs in the album, but it didn’t quite hit for me. The beat of the song is unique, but it feels a little off compared to some of the other, more catchy songs. There are some interesting moments throughout it and many creative ideas, but the overall flow of it didn’t attract me, and isn’t as memorable like “Aperture” or “Ready, Steady, Go.” It’s the kind of song that might grow on some listeners, but for me it was more of a background track than a standout song.

Coming Up Roses:

This song is an ultimate standout. It’s my favorite in the album, and easily in my top 5 Harry songs overall. This song hits all the emotions, and has a certain cinematic quality that makes it feel like a full story unfolding in just a few minutes. It’s full of feeling, from the heartfelt vocals to the hopeful notes, you can’t help but feel a wave of emotions. “Coming Up Roses” perfectly captures that sense of hope and nostalgia that makes the song unforgettable. For me, its a song that will stay with me long after it ends, and it feels like pure magic.

Pop:

Bright, fun, and full of energy is all of the adjectives that describe this song. It has a bouncy, upbeat rhythm that immediately gets you moving, and the catchy hooks make it easy to sing along. It’s playful without feeling over the top, and it is able to effortlessly blend fun with style. The melody is infectious, and the whole song just radiates a confident, carefree energy. Overall, it’s the kind of song that feels like pure joy.

Dance No More:

Carla’s Song:

It carries a sense of longing that sticks with you long after it ends. In the end, it shows Harry’s ability to connect on a personal level, making it a more touching moment in the album.
