2017 is the year of consumer revelation. This year we should expect dozens of updated technologies (the Samsung Galaxy Note 8), upcoming artists such as Russ, and much-anticipated movie sequels, starting with Cars 3. What are you most excited about this year? Comment below!

1) Clothing Brand: Supreme

Supreme has been a leading competitor in the street-wear industry. The company is a skateboard-influenced brand that continues to manufacture clothing and accessories that have gained popularity in youth culture. This year Supreme is rumored to be collaborating with luxury brand Louis Vuitton. The company, however, has recently released a few items from their next release, ranging from sweatshirts inspired by the respected artist Van Gogh and Terry Richardson, an iconic fashion photographer. For those who are not familiar with the brand, Supreme typically releases a variety of different clothing such as their famous “box-logo” tee shirt, winter jackets, pants, shorts, the list goes on. In addition to the clothes, the brand also releases model skateboards that feature the artwork of other designers or brands. The Supreme line is extremely limited, and people often spend hours to line for the release. If you find yourself near a supreme shop this year, go in and have a look. There might be some interesting clothes that might spruce up your outfit!

2) Project Valerie by Razer.

In the realm of technology, the California tech company, Razer, has just unveiled a new prototype that may revolutionize the way we play video games. The company boasts the world’s first laptop to feature three built-in monitors. The laptop itself has two monitors that slide out from the main screen and can automatically position itself using a new technology (Surround View Technology) invented by NVIDIA, a company that designs graphic processing units for the gaming industry. The screens themselves will measure up to 17.4 inches and will have 4k resolution, totaling to over 12k of viewing space. In addition to the futuristic monitors, the laptop’s short-throw keyboard is rumored to integrate the NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1080 GPU. The price of the laptop has not yet been released but keep checking on Razer’s website to be updated soon http://www.razerzone.com/project-valerie.

3) Records

In 2016, vinyl sales have skyrocketed. It is expected that the production of records will pass the billion-dollar mark for the first time this century. Record players are easy to buy and maintain so the cost to start this new hobby costs around $100!  Many subscription-based companies such as Vinyl-Me deliver a new vinyl to your door every month. Often, vinyl covers offer aesthetic artwork that can be used to decorate your home. 2016 might just be the year for you to start collecting vinyls!

4) Cars 3

Disney was criticized last year for releasing a gloomy trailer version of the highly anticipated Cars 3. The ten-second trailer only featured a few seconds of the loud cheering that we would expect from the previous movies before the main character, McQueen, gets into a terrifying accident. Followed by the last scene was the quote, “From this moment, everything will change,” which left us wondering the fate of McQueen’s driving career. However, Disney recently released another trailer that reminds us of the previous Cars movies. We now know that McQueen is coming to a close end with his time in racing and that he needs to beat his younger and charismatic rival before gaining his title back.

5) Tesla Model 3

Although electric cars are thought to be the future of transportation, these vehicles often come at a hefty price. However, Tesla is beginning to change the notion by offering the new and improved Tesla Model 3 at a stunning $35,000. Compared to other cars Tesla released this year,  the Model 3 offers a much cheaper alternative for those who want to help our earth. This premium sedan some of the most updated features such as autopilot hardware, a 215-mile range per charge, and 0-60mph in under 6 seconds. Not bad for an electric car!

6) Russ

Representing the south, Russ is an emerging hip hop artist expected to have a larger presence in 2017. Born in New Jersey and raised in Atlanta, Russ recently gained popularity in the music industry after releasing his single “What they want” last year. This single reached an all time high of 22 on the US rap charts. Russ has signed to Columbia records and also owns his own record label known as DIEMON. In 2013, he released his first ever mixtape Straight From Limbo that began sparking interest among music producers.

7) Jordan 12 OVO

If you’re a fan of basketball brand Jordan or Drake, you should lookout for this shoe. It is rumored that the shoe will be released on February 11 2017. Drake’s line OVO (October’s Very Own) is a well-known clothing company that made a big hit last year. The shoe itself will come in a black color and feature a luxurious upper suede. The price is said to be $225, which is a reasonable price considering the resale price of this shoe goes up into the thousands.

8) Galaxy Note 8

After the release of the unsuccessful Galaxy Note 7, Samsung will continue to release the Samsung Galaxy Note 8 in upcoming months. The device is rumored to feature an updated iris scanner, and virtual assistant Bixby (Bixby is said to be more advanced than Siri enabling it to handle much more difficult functions). The phone itself is said to feature its 4k Super AMOLED display, S-Pen, and updated VR features. Hopefully this time, the phone won’t be a bomb hazard!
