The first set of speakers met with the boys to present on interview skills, with the objective of readying the boys for job and college interviews.
Mr. Bernie Yanelli and Head of School Mr. Peter Kraft spoke in the Sunshine Library about their “top 10 interview hacks” for meeting prospective employers and answering tough questions.
One notable hack was the “First Five Minutes Rule,” which called for students to focus their energy on how they introduce themselves and respond to the question “Tell me about yourself.”
Kraft shared his favorite piece of advice about finding joy in the interview itself.
“I think that one of the things that makes a successful interview is that you enjoy them,” said Kraft. “The more you can practice and get confident, allows yourself to enjoy the process, which… is really great.”

While the boys were learning about helpful techniques, guest speaker Camilyn Beth Leavitt, who owns a clothing store in Sarasota and is a friend of Mrs. Elisha, spoke with the US girls how to present themselves and dress for success.
Leavitt explained how to dress properly, have confidence, and talked about her journey creating her own clothing brand.
Leavitt stated that one of the most important things a young woman [or student] can do is to walk into a room with confidence.
“First impressions are everything,” said Leavitt.“Even if you don’t know what you’re doing, you can still walk in there with your shoulders back, a smile on your face, and having an appropriate outfit on.”
Leavitt also gave recommendations to students on what to wear on professional dress days at Saint Stephen’s.
“Professional dressing is definitely about respecting yourself and the environment you’re in,” Leavitt said.
