Winter Game Night rebranded as ‘Winter Spirit Night’

You heard that right. The flailing StuCo-planned game night has been re-imagined, and the new agenda is appealing to many.

Winter Formal became Winter Informal, which become Winter Game Night, which became Winter Spirit Night.

In a surprise move on Tuesday afternoon, the Student Council met to rebrand Winter Game Night into Winter Spirit Night.  The change was made to make the event more appealing to the student body, as there are now spirit points on the line for the events that will go down.

Winter Game Night will take place from 6:30pm-8:30pm this Saturday, Feb. 10, in the Upper School Commons.

According to StuCo, there was a need for more spirit events anyway, and the night offers a unique opportunity to expand the year-long spirit competition.

Senior council member Madison McAvoy said the event list will be disbursed Wednesday during assembly, after which class officers can determine how to staff the spirit events for the best chance of winning.

Events will include Just Dance, Mariokart, Spikeball, ping-pong, a mini-golf tournament, among others.

For those not competing for spirit points, there will be plenty more to participate in, including a poker table, movie room, and board game room.

This year there will not be a dance floor, however, there will be music playing to keep the atmosphere fun

StuCo sophomore class representative George Frano has high hopes for this year’s event. When asked about why students should show up, Frano had the following to say.

“This year the dress code won’t be as strict, so it’ll be straight vibes.”

Class President Theo Frano also emphasized the exciting activities that would be happening.

“It will be special because it’s a new take on the winter dance and event… we’re adding a lot of events to make the night more exciting.”

Tickets are on sale for only $20 in Mr. Holt’s office, so make sure to get yours before it’s too late.

May the best grade win.
