This year, the boys golf team will go down in the history books.
For the first time in two years, the boys won the SSAA [Southern States Athletic Conference] Championships as a team, and Eddie Gu earned the individual title at the event.
Their consistency and resilience this season, proven by a record of 47-1, sets the team apart. Led by Coach Ryan Macey and senior captain Fergus McLeod, the Falcons have defeated the top local programs and the best regional teams along the way.
Coach Macey serves as a crucial support system for the boys, pushing them in the direction of success.
“He [Coach Macey] really knows how to bring the team together, and is very supportive, no matter how you play,” Fergus McLeod said.
In terms of student leaders for the team, captain Fergus McLeod provides steady guidance and Eddie Gu has emerged as a breakout performer, consistently delivering under pressure and leading the team to victory.
Gu won the individual title at SSAA, earning the team statewide recognition, placing the team among Florida’s top high school golf programs.
