On Friday, the Lower School invited parents to bring their pets and have them blessed in celebration of Saint Francis of Assisi, the patron saint of animals.

A large number of parents and Lower Schoolers came with their pets. Mostly dogs, but some cats and even birds and lizards were spotted in the mix.

The celebration took place in the lower school playground and included performances from the lower school ensemble and lower school singers. Saint Stephen’s chaplain, Reverand Rich, led the ceremony by blessing holy water and then proceeded to bless the animals.
