What’s new in the loggia

Craving something new? Check out the newest items in the lunch room!

With the new year unfolding, the powers that be in the Lunch Loggia decided to change a few of their menu items. The school has welcomed some new breakfast and lunch delights that the students are already loving!

Mr. Ed McAvoy, the Lunchroom Coordinator, gave me the scoop on what’s in and what’s out in the loggia.

McAvoy said, “Last year, we started piloting new items for break time, like Panera Tuesdays and Thursdays.”

The idea for the new treats came after last year’s juniors implemented chicken minis on Wednesdays in order to fundraise for prom. So what’s new this year? For starters, we have new breakfast items every day.  On Tuesdays and Thursdays, we get sausage, egg, and cheese breakfast sandwiches from Uncle Nick’s. On Mondays and Wednesdays, we have egg and cheese croissant sandwiches. Finally, on Fridays, we have our fan favorite, the Chick-fil-A chicken minis.

Besides food items, our lunch room brought some new drinks into the mix. Now, FairLife milk and Core power protein drinks are available in the lunchroom to offer students a healthier beverage option.

When I asked students their take on the new menu, they only had the highest praise.  Freshman, Graham Schlick-Trask, said, “It’s better than I expected,” similar to freshman Ben Rigney, who said it has become my “everyday breakfast.”

Head to the lunchroom to try the new items today!
