Upon the crowning of the Boys Basketball team as District champions (for the first time ever), senior Cade Westberry was named the District 16 Florida Athletic Coaches Association (FACA) Player of the Year. He averages 13 points, 4.4 rebounds, 3.3 assists, and 2.1 steals per game.  The team’s head coach, Dave Ruemenapp has been named the District 16 FACA Coach of the Year due to a very successful season (21-5).

The Gauntlet also extends congratulations to senior Jake Manning, who has held his title of Manatee County wrestling champion for three years. He was also named the most outstanding wrestler for all lower weight classifications throughout Manatee County. Jake will wrestle this weekend in the District Tournament.
