Views for SSES upper school newspaper hits record high.

Last year our Saint Stephen’s Gauntlet website averaged around 200 page views per week. The Gauntlet staff tried to raise viewership and achieved it with a peak of around 450 viewers, but for some of our writers that wasn’t good enough.

Four-year member of the Upper School Gauntlet, Trevor Mulqueen, said, “I was a little disappointed, it was hard to find motivation with the lack of viewership.”

Last year being his third year, Trevor is an experienced member of the Gauntlet staff who is very excited for its recent growth. When I asked him what he gives credit to for this growth he replied, “Video Journalism has definitely brought more eyes to our page, also this year we have upped the amount of content we add per week and that’s helped too.”

This year our staff is averaging 1,500 page views per week, up 650% from last year, with homecoming week bringing in nearly 3500 viewers. This bump in viewership shows the hard work put in by our Gauntlet staff.

The Gauntlet hit 3,500 views last week. The weekly average has been 200 for several years.
