Last Wednesday, October 25th, the juniors, sophomores, and freshmen gathered in the middle school commons for a performance by the Asolo Rep Conservatory. The actors presented their own twist on the classic Shakespeare play “Julius Caesar.”

The Rep’s version of the play was set in the 1980’s, replacing Rome with the greed and fast-pace of New York’s Wall Street. The actors showed great enthusiasm throughout the play, and did a great job entertaining the students.  Saint Stephen’s sophomores are required to read the play for the English curiculum this year. The precentation gave helpful incite for whats to come, and hopefully students will gain a better understanding of the plot.

In the future, when our new preforming arts center is built, these plays could be better performed as they would not be hindered by the insufficient middle school commons. Everyone is looking forward to this new addition to our campus and the opportunities it brings.
