Fantasy football is a competition in which participants compile imaginary teams from players in the NFL and score points according to the weekly performance of their players. Fantasy football is, as some would say,  “a man’s dream world.” Many people wait their entire summer preparing for the fantasy year, buying magazines, looking at websites, and entering mock drafts, which are fake drafts in preparation for the real thing. People play fantasy football for many different reasons. Bryce Gay plays because “It’s a fun way to interact with my friends and I am also a big football fan.” He joined fantasy football because “I had heard a lot about it so I wanted to join. I have never played fantasy football before. That is what sparked my interest in it.”

Editor Picks: Week 6

During the fourth week of the NFL many sleepers and young future stars went unnoticed in the fantasy draft days. Here are some of the best players to have for week 6 of the NFL.

Best Pickups:

1. Owen Daniels (Tight End)

After a breakout performance in week four, Owen Daniels proved that he was an elite tight end. His season stats include 14 receptions for a total of 113 yards, with two touchdown receptions.

2. Teddy Bridgewater (Quarterback)

For a young quarterback, Teddy Bridgewater has showed his ability to compete at a high level. His week four stats include, 317 passing yards, 0 interceptions, 27 rushing yards, and 1 rushing touchdown. He miss week 5 with an injury but will be returning in the oncoming game for hopefully a high performance.

3. Eddie Royal (Wide Receiver)

Royal is a much-overlooked receiver who had a breakout performance against the the Jacksonville Jaguars. His week four stats featured 5 receptions, 105 receiving yards, and two receiving touchdowns. After the game, he commented, “We just did whatever we had to do to win.”

4. Justin  Forest (Running Back)                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                He shares playing time with Lorenzo Taliaferro, but when he got in, he showed a lot of promise. His week four stats: 14 carries, and 66 rushing yards. This season alone he is averaging 6 yards per carry. Former linebacker Takeo Spikes tweeted “he’s the guy to take the Ravens rush game to the next level.”

5. Eric Ebron (Tight End)

Having one of the best performances by a tight end all of week four, he racked up an impressive 3 receptions, and 1 touchdown reception.

6. DeAndre Hopkins (Wide Receiver)

After being overlooked in many drafts, he showed that he could hold his own in his second season in the NFL. His season stats include 18 receptions, 291 receiving yards, and 3 touchdown catches.  He has become the number one option in the Texas offense, so look for huge games going forward.
