Have a passion for fashion? Always dreamed of styling your outfits before you buy them? Well look no further than your iPad to unleash an endless possibility of fashion creations! Polyvore is a unique app where with the click of a button you can formulate your own outfits, home designs, or abstract collages. The fun doesn’t stop there. Polyvore also has a social media aspect similar to that of Instagram or Pinterest. When you make account you will have the option to follow people, and as you increasingly create more sets people will follow you too! This allows you to look through either the feed of your followers or trending sets. In addition, shop and collaborate with others as you develop your own personal style, and watch your account morph into a gallery displaying all your new creations.

This app and website is very user-friendly. You do have to make an account before you begin styling, but it’s free. Let’s say you’re looking for some fall fashion inspiration. You’ve been on the lookout for a new vest, but aren’t quite sure how you would style it. Well, on Polyvore you can simply type in the word “vests” (see image below),

and the app will generate numerous styles, colors, and types as shown above.  If you find one you want to purchase you can click on it and find out what store it’s from. If you’re still not sold and want to see if its a versatile piece you can experiment by creating different outfits as I did below.

        

Once you style that perfect ensemble, you can find out how much each item is, and purchase the pieces you want.

In addition to shopping, Polyvore also offers the opportunity to enter your designs in competitions. Simply type in “Polyvore contests” on Google, and you can scroll through the numerous ones available. These contests vary from designing your dream smartphone case, to pitching the perfect Halloween porch, to styling leather jeans, and it gets even better. If you win a competition, you can win gift cards, products, and more.

Another way many use Polyvore is to recreate their favorite celeb outfits. Whether it be on the red carpet or out and about, this site makes it simple to get the Hollywood look.

In the set below, I first found three of Taylor Swift’s cutest outfits. Then I simply searched for each article of clothing, such as “denim shorts,” and “maxi skirt,” and picked the piece of clothing that fit the best. It’s easy and fun!
